I'd like to do this fairly soon. The memory leak bug that was recently
reported on the users list is fairly serious, and the fix was trivial (all
tests still pass).

When Mason is 'make dist'ed on a host with Apache::Request and mod_perl,
those modules are added as dependencies in META.yml, when they are, in
fact, not required. This leads to folks giving up on installing mason
when they don't have mod_perl. Any chance of it going away?

A minor request:

When Mason is 'make dist'ed on a host with Apache::Request and mod_perl,
